Another giant step has been taken for the HUMAN project, because in mid-August the new HUMAN orchestral composition by Helge Burggrabe was recorded at renowned Berlin-based studio b-sharp. “It was a poignant moment to experience the composition about human rights, which I had been working so hard on over the past few months, brought to life by wonderful conductor Duncan Ward. In just a short space of time, he coaxed fantastic performances out of the well prepared orchestra with precision, sensitivity and enthusiasm,” comments Helge Burggrabe.
Pianist John Kameel Farah from Canada and a creative percussion quartet called Elbtonal from Hamburg came to the rehearsals. The musicians belonging to the Berlin-based German Chamber Orchestra found it quite an exciting challenge to record the complex composition after just two days in rehearsal.
The HUMAN music on the 13 key themes important to human beings, such as freedom, home, shelter, community and love has now been published and the team of choreographers, Wilfried van Poppel, Amaya Lubeigt and Nanni Kloke alongside the Konsonanz Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Julio Fernandez, can start work. Because the premiere of HUMAN will take place at Theater Bremen on 6 and 7 March 2021.
The HUMAN CD will be available from the Berlin Classics label in January 2021.
