Erasmus funding approved for HUMAN school projects

The EU has announced that Erasmus funding will be available for HUMAN themes as the focus of pan-European Five Days to Dance school projects starting in February 2021. Under the artistic direction of Wilfried van Poppel and Amaya Lubeigt, the series of events will start in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Germany, in February 2021 and continue in Valencia (Spain) in June and in Viseu (Portugal) in October. A community dance school week in Meppel (the Netherlands) is planned for February 2022 before the students of all schools meet againg for a big event in Osterholz-Scharmbeck in June 2022.

“We’re delighted that the funding will allow us to take the HUMAN idea to schools in four European countries. Our work will encourage and empower young people and teachers to become ambassadors for human rights and to network with each other across countries too,” explains choreographer Amaya Lubeigt.

An introductory workshop for teachers and an accompanying film are further cornerstones of this Erasmus project.
